Robson Forensic is looking for a meticulous Forensic Engineering Laboratory Technician to manage our cutting-edge evidence intake, operate specialized instrumentation, and support field investigations. If you have a passion for science, a sharp eye for detail, and a desire to do hands-on work that directly impacts high-stakes investigations, this is your launchpad.Job Summary: The Forensic Engineering Laboratory Technician provides essential laboratory support for our testifying experts across all disciplines. The individual manages evidence intake, maintains chain-of-custody documentation, obtains and documents testing samples and exemplars, operates laboratory instrumentation, and manages and fulfills equipment requests for off-site inspections and testing.Responsibilities:Ensure rigorous chain-of-custody for all samples from field collection through laboratory testing and final dispositionMaintain, inspect, and replenish all field investigation equipment including cameras, lighting, PPE, evidence collection kits, and scene documentation toolsPhotograph evidence and laboratory work systematically for inclusion in investigation reports and demonstrative exhibitsManage laboratory equipment calibration schedules, equipment maintenance programs, and capital equipment procurement planningAssist with equipment calibration verification, maintenance logs, and calibration record-keepingMaintain laboratory workspace cleanliness, organization, equipment logs, and safety compliance per laboratory safety plan and OSHA requirements.Other related projects as needed.Qualifications:Education: Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical fieldComputer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite, experience with any of the following is desirable: MATLAB, CAD software, and 3D printing.Office Skills: Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.Abilities: Hands-on experience and ability to operate mills, lathes, cutting equipment, welding equipment, and other fabrication equipment and processes is desirable.Work Style: Must be able to work onsite at our lab with occasional field assignments as needed.Other: A clean background screen, a valid driver's license, and the ability to drive passenger cars and light trucks.Location: Lancaster, PA (onsite)About UsRobson Forensic is a national leader in expert witness consulting, providing technical expertise across many fields within engineering, architecture, science, and a broad range of specialty disciplines.
