• $10,000 for certified officers (no experience required)
• $15,000 for qualifying lateral transfers

Applicants must be TCOLE certified as a Peace Officer and must pass a written and physical fitness test. All testing will be waived if currently employed as a full-time Texas Peace Officer. Any certified candidate who is not employed as a full-time Texas Peace Officer will be required to participate in the written and physical fitness test.

• Recruit: $66,700 (non-certified, no experience)
• STEP 1: $73,370 (certified, <2 years experience)
• STEP 2: $75,938 (certified, 2 years experience)
• STEP 3: $78,596 (certified, 3 years experience)
• STEP 4: $81,347 (certified, 4 years experience)
• STEP 5: $84,194 (certified, 5 years experience)
• STEP 6: $87,141 (certified, 6 years experience)
• STEP 7: $90,190 (certified, 7+ years experience)
