Workplace Violence Investigator (Contract)

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Hours: 40 hours/week

Duration: 4 months to start

Pay Rate: $50–$60/hour


A leading global organization, is seeking a Workplace Violence Investigator to support its Internal & External Investigations team on a contract basis. This role will lead objective, confidential investigations involving workplace violence, employee misconduct, and other policy violations across a global workforce.


What You'll Do

  • Conduct workplace investigations involving workplace violence, misconduct, and policy violations.
  • Interview employees, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Gather, analyze, and preserve evidence and documentation.
  • Prepare clear investigative reports and present findings to Legal, HR, Labor Relations, and senior leadership.
  • Ensure investigations are handled in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Review peer investigations for quality and consistency.
  • Manage multiple investigations while maintaining confidentiality and objectivity.


What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of workplace investigations, employee relations, HR, compliance, labor relations, or related experience.
  • Strong experience conducting sensitive employee interviews and investigations.
  • Excellent fact-finding, evidence analysis, report writing, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and workplace policies.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while building credibility with stakeholders.


Preferred

  • Experience investigating workplace violence, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, ethics, or employee misconduct matters.
  • Experience in large, unionized, regulated, or global organizations.
  • Relevant investigations, HR, or compliance certifications are a plus.
