The Maine Department of Professional and Financial Regulation, Bureau of Insurance is seeking a skilled and collaborative General Counsel to provide strategic legal leadership and ensure strong oversight of the insurance industry.This is an opportunity to play a critical role in safeguarding consumers, supporting professional staff, and guiding the Bureau through complex legal and regulatory matters.As General Counsel, you will serve as the Bureau's primary legal advisor and trusted partner to leadership and staff. In this role, you will:Provide legal guidance to staff attorneys across Bureau divisionsAdvise on pending and proposed legislationCollaborate with Bureau staff to resolve legal and regulatory interpretation issuesCoordinate with the Office of the Attorney General as neededSupport the Superintendent on matters impacting Bureau operations and policyTo be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:Strong knowledge of Maine insurance laws, rules, and regulationsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentExcellent communication skills with staff and licenseesTalent for translating complex legal and regulatory issues into clear, concise written guidance#J-18808-Ljbffr
