This position would lead the information and referral program for the bureau, helping Missourians find the help and support they need for themselves or their loved ones. This position will work closely with the Area Agencies on Aging, other state departments, and service providers to help coordinate services across the state. In addition, this position will lead the outreach and education for our partners, and will assist with monitoring the Area Agencies on Aging.

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

Responsibilities - What you'll do

  • Lead the Information and Assistance work for the bureau to ensure that Missourians access the programs and services they need to help them age with dignity.
  • Lead the Older Americans Act Supportive Services funding oversight for Information and Assistance, transportation, and other areas as assigned.
  • Provide outreach and education for our partners and the public to help them learn of the services and supports available to help them or their loved ones as they age.
  • Provide outreach, educatiaon, and technical assistance to contractors, performing monitoring on contract funds and required deliverables, and developing training and eduction for contractors as needed.
  • Represent DHSS and the needs of older adults and caregivers at various stakeholder meetings, conferences, and events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - All you need for success

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college OR four or more years of professional experience working in the social services field with vulnerable populations.
  • Excellent customer service skills are needed
  • A desire to work with older adults and caregivers to provide inforamtion and referrals to assist them to live their best lives.
  • Experience working on grants and contracts including development, oversight, providing techical assitance and monitoring.

Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
