A Sheriff's Deputy performs a variety of complex law enforcement duties and enforces Federal and State laws and County ordinances for the protection of life, health, safety, welfare and property. Deputies with the Sheriff's Office provide services through the Patrol, Investigations and Special Services Divisions.Deputies who live in or within 15 air miles of McHenry County, within a bordering Illinois county (Boone, Cook, DeKalb, Lake, Kane & McHenry), are eligible for a take-home squad car. (Illinois residents only)Orientation Session 8:30 AM — November 22, 2026 — Huntley High School — 13719 Harmony Road — Huntley, IL.
