To ensure compliance with government regulations, the remote North Carolina Licensed Coding Specialist will implement and maintain compliance programs, conduct internal audits, and educate providers on coding and billing practices.Key responsibilitiesImplement compliance programs in accordance with government regulations and conduct routine internal audits of provider documentationEducate providers on compliance with Medicare and Medicaid guidelines, HIPAA, and fraud preventionIdentify coding and billing risk areas, conduct focused reviews, and collaborate with internal staff to improve documentation and compliance capabilitiesRequired qualificationsBachelor's degree requiredFour years of administrative experience in compliance, coding, and auditing principles related to revenue cycle functionsTwo years of experience with DRGs and APR-DRGs for technical codingCertification as RHIA, RHIT, or CCS required; CPC or CPMA preferredExperience in formal teaching of coding is preferred
