This includes supporting risk and root cause analysis, interface with subject matter experts (SME) and the evaluation of current processes and procedures for effectiveness.Prepare reports/presentations and actively participate in AA's Safety Management System (SMS), which involves all levels of leadership.Collaborate with operational leaders, operational team members, union representatives, supporting departments (e.g. Training, Policies & Procedures), other ASAPs (e.g. Flight, Flight Service, TechOps, Ground/Ramp, Dispatch, CLP, etc.) and other operating departments.The role is a part of the Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) team within our Safety group.What you'll do As noted above, this list is intended to reflect the current job but there may be additional essential functions (and certainly non-essential job functions) that are not referenced. Management will modify the job or require other tasks be performed whenever it is deemed appropriate to do so, observing, of course, any legal obligations including any collective bargaining obligations.Support flight SMS by continually evaluating data to identify trends and changes in operational risk based on information captured in ASAP.Develop data visualizations as necessaryAssist with projects for the ASAP to promote Safety in managing operational risk and enhancing compliance.Collaborate with departments, FAA and labor union members of the ERC for information sharing and corrective actions.Processing reports to ensure the confidentiality of the ASAP and accurate data input.Support the ASAP Manager in preparing the ASAP Event Review Committee (ERC) agenda and efficiency of the ERC meeting.Ensure ERC meeting minutes, attendance and action items are accurately documented.Interface with other ASAP teams to ensure program alignmentDevelop safety & compliance materials including posters and PowerPoint presentations to represent the department in meetingsAny other relevant duties to support ASAP assigned by the ASAP ManagerPeriodic after hours and weekend support may be requiredAbility to travel (10%)All you'll need for success Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job ExperienceBachelor's Degree or equivalent operational experience3+ years' experience in the airline operationsAbility to generate effective data analysisMust be able to perform his/her duties under strict confidentiality guidelines.Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job ExperienceSkilled in the use ProSafe T, TABLEAU, CoPilot, SHAREPOINT, and WBAT or similar complex database systemVersed in the Code of Federal RegulationsKnowledgeable of company/operational policies and proceduresExperience in Safety Management Systems (SMS) principalsData analysis experienceFAA Private Pilot LicenseSkills, Licenses & CertificationsKnowledge of Microsoft Office to include advanced skills in Excel and PowerPointAbility to establish and handle multiple prioritiesOrganized and ability to operate in a fast paced environmentAbility to self-manage time scheduleWhat you'll get Feel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer:Travel Perks: Ready to explore the world?
