Essential Function - Support the faculty, students, and department of the Hospitality Industry Administration program. Contribute to the mission of the college as a whole.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Certificate or Associate's Degree in Culinary/Baking & Pastry. Food Safety Manager's License required. BASSET license preferred.
Experience: Two (2) years of work experience in the Hospitality industry; inventory, retail, or food service.
Skills: Computer proficiency, especially Outlook and MS Office. Willing to learn new technologies. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently; self-starter.
Responsibilities
1. Maintain department laboratories, offices, and storage facilities, including cleaning, organizing, and restocking daily. 2. Inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and establishing & maintaining pars. 3. Identify and ameliorate safety concerns. 4. Clean and maintain professional food service equipment. Interface with internal and external maintenance services as required. 5. Maintain and prepare marketing materials, including departmental web pages. 6. Participate in various activities of the program, including recruitment events, community events, and supporting departmental retail outlets. 7. General administrative duties, e.g., answering phone calls, emails, filing, assisting with course scheduling, obtaining quotations for products and services, setting up meetings, taking minutes, etc. 8. Support student success through advising, registration, and connecting students with campus resources. 9. Other duties as assigned.
