Food Safety Inspection Supervisor

Job Description

Provides administrative and technical direction supervising a staff of food safety inspection professionals. Manages and coordinates FSIS recall activities. Formulates, recommends, and implements technical analyses covering a broad range of inspection and enforcement activities affecting domestic and international food safety operations. Maintains surveillance of significant developments and events related to domestic and international food safety operations. Coordinates fact finding and investigative actions involving contamination events affecting regulatory food safety operations. Develops, publicizes, and garners support for the program agenda by meeting with internal and external stakeholders. Represents FSIS as a subject matter expert in regulatory operations with various internal and external stakeholders. Develops immediate and long-term solutions to situations that are unique, unprecedented, and sensitive or controversial in nature. Develops briefings and technical reports documenting the findings of analyses involving a broad range of regulatory operations affecting food safety.
