Job Overview
Our client is seeking a Program Specialist 3 to serve as a liaison between a state aging agency and local Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs). This role is responsible for monitoring aging programs and services, ensuring compliance with program standards and policies, and providing technical assistance to drive quality improvement across an assigned geographic area.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct onsite and offsite monitoring of Aging programs and services; statewide travel required
- Maintain and communicate knowledge of Aging programs, services, policies, and procedures to AAAs, staff, consumers, and public entities
- Use IT systems and consumer database tools to support monitoring activities
- Prepare comprehensive reports documenting findings and interactions with AAAs, providers, and individuals
- Follow up with AAAs on Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) to ensure compliance
- Review program operations and recommend quality improvements
- Provide technical assistance on quality assurance activities
- Interpret Aging policies and procedures as needed
- Participate in developing educational materials, committees, and workgroups
- Prepare and deliver written and oral presentations
- Collaborate with county, state, and external partners
- Bachelor's degree required
- 2+ years of professional experience in a human services program
- Knowledge of quality assurance and risk management principles
- Experience with home and community-based services or human services
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with WellSky or A&D consumer database systems
- Familiarity with state aging policies and program standards
- Experience preparing and delivering public presentations
Onsite - Harrisburg, PA 17101. Full-time, 37.5 hours/week (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM). Frequent statewide travel required, including occasional overnight travel.
