We want relationship-builders who are dedicated and passionate about making a difference for our students and community.Position OverviewWe are looking for our next Student Council Advisor to support, empower, and facilitate experiences for Gideon Pond students in organizing school-wide activities. This role will help students develop leadership skills through planning and participating in events, promoting school spirit, and fostering a positive school culture.QualificationsApply the tools of CPPS when developing schoolwide activitiesCo create the student activities aligned with the purpose with other Elementary Student Activity leaders in the districtEnsure meetings and gatherings that are inclusive of the students ability to participate in the activityOrganize a group of students that is similar to student body populationEnsure student participation in the activity correlates with the demographics of the school buildingEngage in activities in and outside of the school dayShare and celebrate the student activity throughout the yearShare activity plans for the school year to be approved by the site principalCommunicate activity progress and success, areas of needed support throughout the yearKnowledge of State, Federal, and ISD 191 School Board Policies regarding student conduct and appropriate disciplinary action.Evidence of and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with coworkers, parents, community members, supervisor, and students.Ability to receive feedback and adjust accordingly.Strong work ethic and dedication to further the benefits of student participation in co-curricular activities.Ability to perform essential job functions.A diverse workforce fuels innovation and allows us to better understand, communicate with, and educate our students.
