Their primary role is to assist staff and guests, provide physical security and respond to emergencies on campus.DUTIES/PRIMARY JOB PRODUCTSProvide directions, information, and assistance to guests as neededServe as a visible security presence on campus, making regular rounds of the parking lot and buildingProvide security escort services and vehicle assistance when requestedDocuments information on incident reports and other required documents in a thorough, factual and timely mannerMonitor security systems and use observation skills to detect potential threats before they become a problemMake regular inspections of doors, locks, and access control systems to ensure buildings and areas are securedNotify emergency responders (ie. Police, Fire, EMS) when there is an emergency on campus requiring their assistanceRespond to alarms, suspicious behavior, potential threats and emergencies on campus to provide assistancePerforms other duties as requiredJob description is subject to change based on the organization/department's needsINTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPSThis position reports directly to the Safety Operations ManagerREQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIESA heart to serve God and othersAn understanding of Traders Point's culture and valuesHighly observant in identifying potential risksStrategic problem solver with the ability to diffuse complex situationsAbility to be calm, firm and tactful, exercising wise judgment in high-pressure situationsAbility to act quickly and exercise independent, mature judgmentAbility to keep confidential information that is private and personal in natureAdapts to changes in the work environment; able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events with poise and professionalismAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingMust be able to work independently or as a team without direct supervisionMaintain a professional appearance and attitudePossess strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service orientation.Able to operate a computer, telephone, copier, CCTV, 2-way radios, alarm panels and various types of vehiclesEDUCATION & EXPERIENCEAt least 21 years of age with a valid Indiana driver's licenseHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor's degree in ministry, law enforcement, safety, security or related field preferredPrevious experience in security, military, law enforcement, fire department, or emergency medical services preferredPossess an Indiana license to carry a firearmAble to successfully complete on-the-job training in basic first aid, CPR, de-escalation, defensive tactics, and other security-related training within 90 daysAbility to qualify with a firearm using the Indiana ILEA pistol course of fire within 90 daysPHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENTSAbility to regularly lift or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move 100 poundsMust be able to run, climb, bend and kneelProlonged periods sitting at a desk and monitoring surveillance equipmentAbility to patrol the property and access areas quicklyAbility to stand and walk for long periods of timeAbility to work inside or outside in various weather conditions#J-18808-Ljbffr
