Front Office / Gate Security Officer
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and professional Front Gate Security Officer to control and monitor all inbound and outbound traffic at the facility. The Gate Officer is responsible for verifying drivers, vehicles, appointments, Bills of Lading (BOL), and required documentation before authorizing access to the property. The ideal candidate is alert, professional, detail-oriented, and capable of enforcing security procedures consistently while maintaining continuous communication with Dispatch, CCTV, Warehouse personnel, and Site Management.
Responsibilities
Remain assigned to the gate at all times while on duty
Maintain continuous situational awareness of the gate and surrounding areas
Maintain continuous gate coverage and never leave the gate unattended
Monitor all inbound and outbound commercial vehicle traffic
Verify driver identity using government-issued identification
Record the driver's full legal name, driver's license number, tractor license plate, trailer license plate, carrier name, date, and exact check-in time
Ensure all Driver Logs are complete, accurate, and legible
Verify Driver Logs against the Bill of Lading (BOL) and shipping appointment
Confirm driver authorization, carrier information, and pickup or delivery status with Shipping or Warehouse personnel
Grant access only after all required verification and authorization procedures are completed
Direct unverified or unauthorized trucks to the designated waiting/holding area
Deny entry when appointments, documentation, driver authorization, or vehicle information cannot be verified
Notify Dispatch, Warehouse personnel, CCTV, and management of unauthorized or unscheduled arrivals as required
Document denied entries, vehicle holds, escalations, unscheduled arrivals, and final incident dispositions in the Daily Activity Report (DAR)
Verify driver identity, government-issued identification, tractor plate, trailer plate, and carrier information before allowing trucks to exit
Record exact truck check-out times
Deny truck exit and immediately escalate any discrepancies to Dispatch and Warehouse Management
Follow the required security response: STOP * HOLD * VERIFY * REPORT
Immediately report suspicious activity, unauthorized access attempts, safety concerns, and other security issues
Maintain professional communication with Dispatch, CCTV personnel, Warehouse personnel, and Site Management
Conduct a complete verbal pass-down during breaks and shift changes
Ensure the relieving officer assumes gate responsibilities before leaving the post
Inspect assigned radios and communication equipment before beginning duty
Report damaged, missing, or non-operational equipment immediately
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional gate/work area
Dispose of waste in designated receptacles and refrain from littering
Follow all personal electronic device restrictions while on duty, including mobile phones, laptops, tablets, earphones, AirPods, and headphones
Maintain professional appearance, conduct, and integrity at all times
Follow BSIS regulations, applicable labor and non-discrimination laws, company policies, and site-specific post orders
Review all logs and documentation for completeness and accuracy before ending the shift
Secure and submit required paperwork and provide a detailed pass-down to the relieving officer
Notify Dispatch of any unresolved issues before checking out
Qualifications
Previous security, gate, warehouse, logistics, or access-control experience preferred
Strong observation, communication, and documentation skills
Ability to accurately verify and record driver, vehicle, carrier, and shipping information
Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the assigned shift
Ability to enforce security procedures consistently and professionally
Ability to communicate effectively with drivers, employees, vendors, Dispatch, Warehouse personnel, and management
Reliable, punctual, professional, and trustworthy
Ability to work independently and as part of a security team
Ability to respond appropriately to discrepancies, unauthorized access attempts, and suspicious activity
Basic radio and communication equipment skills
Ability to complete written reports and Daily Activity Reports accurately
Ability to comply with company policies, BSIS requirements, and site-specific post orders
Schedule
Full-time
Monday through Friday
9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Break periods are subject to applicable break deductions
Gate coverage must be maintained throughout operating hours
Proper relief and verbal pass-down are required during breaks and shift changes
