Job description

Safran Aerosystems' Wall Township, New Jersey facility is home to the North American headquarters of our Evacuation Systems Business Unit (SEV). Here, you will help design, manufacture, maintain, and support life-saving aircraft evacuation systems, including emergency slides, life rafts, and flotation devices.

1.Plan, direct, and supervise all operations performed in their island in a manner that will ensure optimum results in the following areas of control and administration:

a.Adherence to work order due dates production schedules (time and quantities) as established by MRP.

b.Proper control of workmanship to meet quality standards and work on a daily basis to improve quality through individual and team efforts.

c.Establishment and maintenance of well organized and efficient methods, operations, and work flow to realize the maximum or optimum output for labor and/or machine time expended.

2.Direct and coordinate all operations in cooperation with other departments in a manner that will ensure effective execution of objectives, plans, and schedules.

3.Propose changes in operating instructions or general policies to immediate supervisor as required.

4.Direct the preparation of and/or prepare established reports to management showing accomplishments and other pertinent or requested information.

5.Maintain a sound plan of departmental organization to best facilitate the management, control, and coordination of operations in relation to other manufacturing, administrative or service departments.

6.Make certain through proper selection, training, development and placement of department personnel, that all positions are filled by individuals qualified to meet the requirements of their respective assignments.

7.Ensure just and equitable treatment of all personnel in accord with policies of the division, promote cooperation throughout the organization and stimulate all employees to their best efforts. Treat all personnel with the highest regard as an employee of the Company. Communicate appropriate information to his or her group to understand the goals of the organization and how they relate to his or her island.

8.Ensure that all operations are carried out in an adequate and safe manner and with proper protection to the employees and to the division.

9.Direct the maintenance of machinery and equipment used in department operations.

10.Trains Operators in the required operations and assemblies.

11.Responsible for the quality and quantity of the work of the Operators assigned.

12.Ensures that material, parts, and tools are available to Operators to eliminate down time.

13.Reports sub-par performance or problem Operators to Production Supervisor for guidance or disciplinary action and takes action to communicate poor performance in a positive and professional manner.

14.Must be able to utilize prints, manuals, etc. that are utilized in the department.

15.Checks for accuracy all production cards of Operators under his/her control, understands and utilizes all operational paperwork of the department i.e. travel tickets, work and kit identifications, posting, etc.
