Main procurement activity will be in the metal fabrication commodity.Performs daily procurement activity (placing PO's and maintain PO documentation) by sourcing suppliers for products or services and performing appropriate analysis to meet desired cost and schedule requirements in support of manufacturing and program activities.Addresses quality concerns in collaboration with Quality Assurance, Program Engineering and/or Operations Engineering.Develops and enhances relationships with strategic supplier/partners; serves as the primary contact with suppliers, supporting the initial qualification and fostering a positive and mutually beneficial relationship with suppliers and their management.Actively works to support the development of new technologies and supplier capabilities.Ensure FAR/DFAR requirements are flown down to suppliers and complied with.Participate in and at times host meetings to provide material updates in support of assigned programsCoordinates quality issues with suppliers as required and manages supplier returns.Reviews open invoices and ensure timely three-way match requirements to keep suppliers current.Prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances as requiredBriefs management on the status and issues affecting program cost and schedule performance.Ability to lift up to 20 poundsUp to 20% travel may be requiredOther duties as assignedAbility to obtain a US LEVEL security clearanceQualifications:Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.Preferred Additional Skills:Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)Strong understanding of FARS/DFARS as well as ISO and AS9100Experience negotiating and managing complex Development procurements for cost, schedule, and quality.Experience working and interfacing with Suppliers, Manufacturing, Inventory Management, Quality, and EngineeringIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in the Greater D.C. area is $84,000 - $156,000. The salary range for this role in Virginia outside the Greater D.C. area is $73,000 - $135,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
