Fire Watch
Responsible for watching out for fire hazards in the workplace while work is performed by other employees. Keep flammable materials from ignition sources.
Able to read and write effectively
Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Keep track of time locations and fire bottles assigned
Keep track of fire extinguishers daily
Watch out for fire hazards in the workplace while work is performed by other employees
Keep flammable materials from ignition sources.
In the event of fire, extinguish it immediately or turn a fire alarm on
Able to work in confined spaces
Performs fire prevention activities during hot work operations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Must be able to fulfill job requirements as directed by Foreman & Firewatch Coordinator.
Must be able to work for 8 to 12 hours per day
Must be able to work up to 5-7 days a week
Moderate physical effort required, including standing for extended periods.
Continuous mental and visual attention required.
Subject to random drug and alcohol testing
Lift heavy objects (50-60+/- lbs.)
Background check 7-years of past employment history
Must pass a drug screening
Required physical and respirator fit testing
2 years or more in some capacity of Fire Watch general labor experience specifically with shipboard experience within shipyard environment. In possession or able to obtain fire watch certification
Security clearance not required
High School or equivalent
Full-time employment
Paid accrued vacation time
