FTE: 1.0HOURS PER DAY: 8JOB DESCRIPTION: ESS AssistantTITLE: ESS Assistant FTE: 1.0FLSA STATUS: Non Exempt HOURS PER DAY: 8WORK CALENDAR: 198 daysCOMPENSATION: Classified Non Exempt Compensation Guide (Starting at $18.45/hour)Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesTo assist site staff and parents requesting service regarding Special Education records and students in the programGreets and assists students and parents entering the Special Education Office for registrationProvides information concerning programs and procedures to students, parents, and the public according to prescribed protocolAnswers phones, screens calls, and relays messages to Special Education staffCreates/maintains files of Special Education records for each student according to District protocol.Creates/maintains a database of all Special Education students at each school site and prepares reports as requiredAssists with scheduling student/parent appointments, IEP's and 504 meetingsCalls/researches other information on students new to the school siteTranslates for students and parents, (if bilingual) as neededAssist teachers with meeting notices and documentation required for IEP and 504 meetingsProvides student's teachers with individualized educational plans in order to assist with complianceSecures timesheet signatures from paraprofessionals and department chairPrepares paraprofessional scheduleMaintains quality control of IEP's before sending to District officeProcesses teacher supply requestsMaintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issuesProvide a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, parents and communityPerform responsibilities in an ethical and professional mannerMaintain punctual and regular attendancePerform other related duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills And Abilities RequiredTo perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
