Dispatcher
The Dispatcher position will be in at our Santa Ana branch location, and will service our Southern California locations. The Dispatcher's responsibilities and essential functions include responding to inbound calls, dispatch technicians to work sites, follow up with customers after work is complete to ensure job satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and dispatch workers, work crews, equipment, or service vehicles to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, job, or needs.
- Relay work orders, messages, and information to or from work crews, supervisors, and field inspectors.
- Confer with customers or supervising personnel to address questions, problems, and requests for service or equipment.
- Determine types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required according to work orders or specifications.
- Record and maintain files and records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information.
- Report hiring needs and all employee issues to Branch Manager
- Use tracking log form to account for work tickets, equipment, and employees.
- Verify against the track log to ensure we have received all that was issued.
- Monitor equipment locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules.
- Add new customer jobs and tickets to the computer system.
- Monitor drivers throughout the day via the dispatch system.
- Respond to emergency or same day request in a timely manner.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1-2 years of experience preferred
- Strong leadership skills to ensure drivers' compliance with direction and assignments.
- Basic understanding of the geographical area and mapping programs to facilitate efficient routing.
- Proficient with or able to quickly learn dispatch and record-keeping systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently with little instruction and adapt to change at a fast pace and under pressure.
- High integrity and a strong work concept.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively with a focus on timeliness and responsiveness.
- High degree of energy, self-motivation, and flexibility.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude.
Pay: $25-26 per hour or BOE
