Terminal Operations Technician (Transportation)JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for the safe and efficient cargo transfer operation of the marine docks and related shore equipment (Cranes, loading arms, gangways).Responsible for shore equipment which includes pumps, compressors, valves, , boilers, dehydration and refrigeration systems.Must work at Targa's Galena Park Marine Terminal in Galena Park, TX (DOT and USCG regulated facility)Other duties as assigned.MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or GED equivalentValid Texas driver's licenseMust be able to access equipment on barges and ships, some heavy lifting and tugging on ropes, hoses & loading arms, operating valves(Is this a job function?)Able to work 12 hour (day/night)rotating shifts, including weekends (two scheduled weekends per month) and holidays, subject to callouts & overtimeBasic computer skills in Microsoft Windows applicationsMust be able to work in a self-managed team environmentMust be a self-starter and flexible; able to plan and manage multiple tasksAble to work with a multi-national customer baseAble to obtain a TWIC card.Regular and reliable attendance is requiredPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Previous marine LPG/Chemical terminal experience with pumps, compressors, valves, , boilers, dehydration and refrigeration systems.College courses in process technology, process controls and instrumentationHas a valid TWIC cardPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Ability to lift, push, and pull at least a minimum of 50lbs.Ability to work in changing climate conditions.Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:Targa Resources provides equal employment opportunities based on merit, experience, and other work-related criteria and without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religion, national origin, sex, age, pregnancy, disability, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable law.
