Summary
DispatcherSCOPE OF JOB: The Dispatch Manager is responsible for scheduling and dispatching workers, work crews, and equipment to appropriate locations in accordance with customer requests. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:- Prepare daily and run schedules.
- Determine type and amount of equipment needed to complete a job.
- Communicate with customers regarding scheduling, crews, and equipment for their projects.
- Monitor personnel and equipment locations.
- Maintain files and records of work orders completed.
- Meet with Sales team to develop a project plan for execution and completion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with drivers and helpers to facilitate teamwork and collaboration.
- Dispatch experience required.
- Knowledge of the traffic control industry preferred.
- Basic computer and electronic skills.
- Ability to read traffic control plans preferred.
- Administration and management skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Stress management; ability to work under constant pressure.
- Effective time management skills.
- High school degree or equivalent education/experience preferred.
- Five years of experience in the traffic control industry preferred.
- Sedentary - primarily sitting at a desk for the majority of the day; occasional movement inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Occasionally exerts up to 10 pounds of force, and frequently or constantly exerts a negligible amount of force, to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Frequently operates a computer and other office equipment such as a calculator, copy machine, computer printer, etc.
- Visual acuity is constantly required to ensure the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
- Constantly communicates with customers and employees in other departments. Must be able to exchange accurate information verbally and in writing.
