Security Guard Position at Life Center of Galax

Purpose Statement

Responsible for monitoring all persons and/or vehicles entering or leaving facility property.

Hourly Rate

Hourly rate is negotiable depending on years of experience, education, and other factors. The general hourly pay range for this role is $14-$17.87. This role does offer a shift differential of $2/hour for hours worked at night and $3/hour on weekends.

Essential Functions
  • Assist, direct and monitor all persons entering and leaving the facility property.
  • Keep accurate log books, as required.
  • Direct emergency personnel arriving on facility property and maintain flow of traffic during emergencies, such as fire drills.
  • Communicate incoming admissions, visits and deliveries to appropriate staff.
  • Monitor parking area to ensure that no loitering or misconduct takes place, monitor lobby area and do frequent sweeps of the entire facility.
  • Interact with staff and patients in a professional manner at all times.
  • Report any suspicious behavior to the CEO, supervisor or a member of leadership.
Other Functions
  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skill Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two or more years' experience in security, corrections or military.
Licenses/Designations/Certifications
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility.
