The successful candidate may be required to pass a drug screening, background check and may be required to pass a job-related physical evaluationGENERAL PURPOSE Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties in patrolling and safeguarding all District, SNWA, SNWS and Springs Preserve buildings, facilities and property against theft, vandalism, fire, illegal entry and other potential threats; utilizes a variety of electronic and other surveillance equipment in a security operations control center to monitor facilities and critical infrastructure, authenticate access to off-site facilities and dispatch security and other emergency personnel; and performs related duties as assigned.DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of:Modern security methods, techniques and procedures; basic methods, techniques, procedures and practices of criminal investigations; uses and operations of computers and automated systems as they apply to assigned areas of responsibility; safety practices, safe work methods and safety regulations pertaining to the work; first aid and CPR; customer service practices and procedures.Ability to:Learn and apply District policies, procedures, guidelines and protocols relating to the protection and security of District/SNWA/SNWS/Springs Preserve employees, buildings, facilities and infrastructure; learn and operate computers, automated systems and surveillance equipment with a high degree of proficiency; carry out observation and surveillance responsibilities with required vigilance to potential threats; react quickly and appropriately in emergencies and regarding suspicious situations and potential threats to people and proProficiency in the FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) is critical. Demonstrate strong leadership qualities, including integrity, confident decision-making, a strong work ethic, and the empathy needed to foster trust and professionalism within diverse teams and community settings.The ideal candidate will possess experience in modern security practices, including the use of surveillance camera systems, alarm technologies, and the ability to conduct investigations of potentially criminal activity.
