The City of Warrenville is accepting applications for the position of Crossing Guard.

This is a part-time, seasonal position involving public contact with school children, and ensuring their safety while walking to and from school. Work occurs throughout the community near assigned schools.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Walk and guide pedestrians, particularly children, across an intersection safely.
  • Hold a stop sign to prevent traffic from entering an intersection while pedestrians are crossing.
  • Greet, talk, and interact with children and other pedestrians in a courteous, professional manner.
Requirements include:
  • Ability to tolerate a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.
  • Ability to speak English clearly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and hold a five-pound stop sign.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Excellent interpersonal and community relations skills.
  • Spanish-speaking a plus

Work Schedule and Information

Schedule and hours may vary, but could generally be Monday through Friday, with morning, mid, or late afternoon crossings.
