Summary
Job Title
CSOs must meet the following qualifications, to be vetted by the contract agency prior to referral.
1. Possess United States citizenship (either by birth or naturalization).
2. Possess a valid high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED), or equivalency.
3. Pass a medical and physical standards examination.
4. Be able to read, write and speak the English language fluently.
5. Be at least 21 years of age.
6. Possess a valid, unrestricted (except eyewear) state driver's license.
7. Satisfy one of the following: 1) Two years of service in the United States Armed Services (including Reserve or National Guard); 2) Any combination of two years of experience in physical security (as a security officer—armed or unarmed) and service with the United States Armed Services (including Reserves or National Guard); 3) Associate's Degree in a security or law enforcement field; or 4) Successful completion of a police officer's basic training academy.
