DHS USSS Office Engineer

Location: James J. Rowley Training Center (JJRTC)

*This position is contingent upon contract award*

Position Summary

The Office Engineer is responsible for managing all project documentation throughout the preconstruction, construction, and postconstruction phases. This role ensures accurate information flow, document control, and contract deliverables tracking to support the project team, Project Manager, and COR. The Office Engineer maintains organized, up to date records and databases while ensuring timely processing of all project documentation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage all project documentation, including preconstruction, construction, and postconstruction records.
  • Maintain document control systems, ensuring accurate logging, routing, tracking, and distribution of all project documents.
  • Track contract deliverables, decisions, issues, and resolutions.
  • Ensure timely flow of paperwork and information across the project team.
  • Prepare and submit daily and monthly construction reports to the Project Manager and COR.
  • Log, route, and track all submittals, RFIs, change requests, estimates, QA reports, and safety reports.
  • Ensure all documentation is logged and distributed within 48 hours of receipt.
  • Maintain accurate, up to date electronic files and databases, including shared network drives.
  • Verify contractor compliance with submittal requirements and ensure the submittal register is accurate and updated in real time.
  • Process paperwork for campus access and maintain associated records.
  • Support project team members by providing organized, accessible documentation and timely updates.

Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • US Citizen
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of document management and database experience, preferably in construction or engineering environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage large volumes of documentation.
  • Proficiency in document control systems, shared drives, and database tools.
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
