Duties may include observation, reporting, and interaction with inmates, staff, and the public in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Correctional Officer I-Deputy Sheriff: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate.Correctional Officer II-Deputy Sheriff: One (1) year of experience as a Correctional Officer in an adult correctional facility.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Correctional Officer I/II-Deputy Sheriff: Possession of a valid California driver's license. Minimum age at date of hire is 18 and must have no felony convictions. U.S. citizenship is required or an application for citizenship must have been filed at least one year prior to the recruitment date for the position. Must satisfactorily complete the arrest and firearms training for peace officers and related Board of Corrections/custodial training within specified timeframes.Correctional Officer II-Deputy Sheriff: Successful completion of the Sheriff's Office firearms qualification course.SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONS Have you graduated from an accredited high school or possess a GED certificate?
