What You'll Do:
Know Business Demands. Become thoroughly familiar with the day's business demands by reviewing previous scheduled arrival and departures at varying docks/ports.
Direct Loading and Delivery. Direct tugs and barges to various quarries for loading and sales yards for delivery and unloading.
Report Issues. Immediately report any delivery problems to supervisors and managers for quick resolution or mitigation.
Receive Internal Orders. Receive internal orders, primarily by telephone and internal spreadsheets, regarding requested delivery of product and arrival window, based on inventory and sales demand
Receive External Orders. Receive external orders, primarily by email or telephone, regarding projects booked by sales and long-term delivery schedules.
Determine Schedules. Tactfully balance cost-effective delivery times and rates for Company with demands. Make a schedule for tugs and barges for the next business day/week in correspondence with order requirements.
Complete Daily Reports. Complete reports daily on sales, product allowances and adjustments, delivery problems, and other matters.
Work Rotating Schedule. During training, this position will work Monday-Friday. Once fully trained, the employee will work a rotating schedule of three 12 hour days, including the weekends.
