Monday through Friday

Nights- 10:45 pm - 7:15 am

Starting rate of $19.00 - $21.00 per hour (based on experience)

$1.00 per hour overnight shift differential

Position Summary

The Security Team Member is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and team members during overnight hours. This position performs routine security rounds, responds to emergencies and resident calls, monitors building safety systems, and completes assigned light maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks during periods of low security activity.

The Security Team Member serves as the primary overnight representative of the Facility Services Department and works closely with nursing staff, maintenance staff, and the on-call maintenance technician to ensure a safe and well-maintained campus.

Essential Job Functions

Security Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled interior and exterior security rounds.
  • Monitor campus buildings, parking areas, entrances, and grounds.
  • Respond to fire alarms, security alarms, emergency calls, and weather-related events.
  • Assist nursing staff during resident emergencies as requested.
  • Perform routine door security and building access checks.
  • Monitor cameras and security systems as assigned.
  • Document incidents, unusual activity, and maintenance concerns.
  • Complete shift reports and communicate important information to day shift staff.
  • Assist emergency responders and contractors after normal business hours.
  • Enforce campus safety policies and report unsafe conditions.

Maintenance Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Assist with furniture moves and room setups.
  • Unlock and secure buildings as needed.
  • Monitor mechanical equipment and record readings.
  • Respond to maintenance work orders received during the shift.
  • Assist with snow and ice removal when needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of mechanical and storage areas.
  • Report equipment requiring additional repair.

Emergency Response

  • Respond to fire alarms and assist during evacuations.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness drills.
  • Respond to severe weather events.
  • Coordinate with the on-call maintenance technician during building emergencies.
  • Report critical incidents immediately.

Customer Service

  • Provide courteous assistance to residents, visitors, and team members.
  • Maintain a professional and approachable presence throughout the campus.
  • Respond promptly to after-hours requests.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in security, maintenance, facilities, law enforcement, EMS, military, or related field preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance systems preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Frequently walk the campus, including stairs.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies.
  • Operate maintenance equipment and campus vehicles.
