Overview
Leads a security officer team to ensure security officers respond effectively to routine operations. Works closely with Shift Supervisors and complete assignments, as assigned. Contributes to the safety and welfare of patients, visitors and staff by enforcing Hospital and Department policies and procedures related to providing a secure environment. Perform various tasks within the scope of authority and responsibility to ensure their work experience is broadened to the fullest extent possible. Initiates, conducts, and resolves incident investigations using reports and information gathered. Liaisons with local law enforcement agencies on incident investigations when warranted. Performs Security Officer or Security Supervisor duties, as needed. Ensures continued development of competent and trained security officers. Position Overview: The position is not a supervisory position, but one with increased responsibilities. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent. Prefer associate's degree.
- Three years of security or law enforcement experience required. One year of experience in a hospital or healthcare facility preferred.
- Employees in this position will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a non-frequent driver
- Must possess/ obtain Advanced Security Officer's Certification through the International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS).
- Must have or be eligible to obtain a State of Florida Class 'D' Unarmed Guard's License or have current Police Standards Certification.
