Dispatcher I As Dispatch I, you are responsible for scheduling trips for freight deliveries, including scheduling drivers and routes. The role is a central contact point for both truck drivers and customers, coordinating the shipping process. In this fast-paced position, Dispatchers are responsible for multiple trucks, customers, drivers and routes, which requires attention to detail. They also monitor trucks and drivers once they are on route, and they help if an issue arises with a pickup or delivery.Responsibilities and Duties: Receive and respond to calls and dispatch requestsCommunicate schedule changes or delays to drivers and customersAct as liaison for drivers and transportation managementEnsure driver compliance with ELD, DOT, TSA, and fleet maintenance standardsMaintain fleet insurance, licensing, and compliance recordsSupport special transportation projects and route optimizationProvide dispatch operational support and resolve customer inquiries professionallyEnsure driver safety requirements are met at all timesPlan and adjust routes for efficiency based on traffic, weather, and staffingMaintain accurate records, logs, and reportsPerform other duties as assignedAdministrative: Process daily and weekly bondsMaintain accurate data storage and review reportsManage and maintain route schedulesProcess customer orders efficientlyUtilize CargoWise to create work orders and Bills of Lading (BOLs) as neededAbilities: Strong attention to detail and integrityTake ownership of tasks and complete them on timeAbility to interact well with others, follow oral/written instructionsFlexible and adaptable to changing operational needsRead, write, and comprehend basic checklists, forms, and documentsPhysically able to stand, walk, reach, climb, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. using safe techniquesWilling to work flexible schedules, including overtime when neededFollow all SLAs and SWIsQualifications & Skills Needed: High school diploma24 years' experience in logistics or dispatchingKnowledge of local geography, traffic patterns, and inventory controlProficient in Microsoft OfficeSAP and RF equipment experience a plusFamiliarity with dispatching software, GPS tracking systemsStrong organizational, multitasking, and time management skillsExcellent verbal/written communication; customer-focusedAbility to remain calm under pressure; high accuracy and attention to detailUnderstanding of shipping, receiving, transportation, and LEAN principles (6S)Assertive and collaborative; able to meet high-volume demandsMay require light power tool useRK Logistics Group will consider qualified applicants with a criminal history pursuant to the California Fair Chance Act.
