This position conducts field surveys and inspections for commercial lines of insurance, evaluating physical operations, safety practices, and risk exposures across various industries. The consultant prepares clear, detailed reports and recommendations to support underwriting decisions and improve clients' safety and loss prevention programs. Daily responsibilities include assessing compliance with safety standards, identifying potential hazards, collaborating with clients on practical corrective actions, and communicating findings to underwriters and internal stakeholders. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation, staying current on industry regulations and best practices, and occasionally participating in client training or safety program development.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong skills in Loss Control and Industrial Safety, with experience assessing workplace hazards and implementing preventive measures.Candidates should possess knowledge of Underwriting and Insurance principles, including commercial lines and risk evaluation for various classes of business.Candidates should possess familiarity with specialized coverage areas such as Worker's Compensation, including associated risk factors and inspection requirements.Relevant qualifications include experience in risk management, safety engineering, or occupational safety, preferably in field-based consulting or inspection roles.Additional beneficial qualifications include strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, analytical thinking, valid driver's license, and the ability to travel locally and work independently on client sites.A bachelor's degree in safety, risk management, engineering, or a related field is preferred; professional certifications (e.g., CSP, ARM) are a plus.
