Position DescriptionThe Third Circuit Court of the Judicial District of Tennessee is seeking a full-time Court Officer with a start date of September 1, 2026. The position is 37.5 hours per week. The selected candidate must already be certified by and through the Davidson County Police Department.Typical DutiesMonitor the courtroom to ensure compliance with Chamber Rules and maintain proper decorum at all times.Transport and/or coordinate the safe and secure transport of individuals in the custody of the Davidson County Sheriff or any other law enforcement agency.Assist the Judge and Court Staff with administrative duties as needed and as assigned.Maintain strong communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on conflict resolution and de‑escalation.Operate as liaison between chambers and other metro and state offices.Monitor and update processes, procedures, and checklists for roles and responsibilities associated with your primary job functions.Draft and update chamber rules specific to the areas you oversee.Devise, implement, and manage processes for more efficient and effective systems for matters under your purview.Attend weekly staff meetings (day and time to be determined).Maintain positive and friendly communication and interactions with anyone who interfaces with the Office.Continuously seek out opportunities for professional and personal development.Provide continuous feedback to the Judge on concerns, suggestions, or complaints.Be present and/or readily available for work‑related matters Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM–3:00 PM (including WFH time and excluding reasonable and lawful breaks).As an employee of the Court, you will be required to follow and be subjected to the Rules of Judicial Conduct as set forth by the Tennessee Supreme Court.Minimum QualificationsPrevious experience as a Court Officer, Probation Officer, or law enforcement officer.Proof of background in law enforcement or equivalent specialized training.Proficiency in Adobe and working with PDF documents.High School Diploma or GED equivalent.Exceptional ability to communicate, articulate, and relate to coworkers and others with professionalism and integrity.Proficient typing and personal computer skills.BenefitsApproximately 13 paid State and Local holidays per year.Health benefits.Supplemental dental and vision benefits.Life insurance benefits.Retirement benefits.Additional Benefits DetailsFull‑time, Civil Service positions – 10 vacation days per year (increasing after 5 years of service).1 sick day per month.12 paid holidays per year.Public Safety – Sworn and civilian positions – 20 vacation days per year, 3 personal days per year, 1 sick day per month, 12 paid holidays per year.Part‑time, non‑Civil Service positions – visit HR and Benefits webpages for more information.Full‑time, non‑Civil Service positions – contact hiring department for benefits information.Seasonal/temporary positions – no benefits offered.Conditions of EmploymentMust be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the United States.Must be able to adhere to the Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees.Must comply with confidentiality requirements, including handling confidential information in a variety of contexts.Understand and accept that all employees of the Third Circuit Court are at‑will employees and can be terminated at any time with or without cause.Subject to background checks and a subsequent favorable suitability determination.Application ProcessA letter of interest.Most recent resume.The best qualified applicants will be invited for a personal interview.Equal Opportunity EmployerTHE THIRD CIRCUIT COURT IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER#J-18808-Ljbffr
