The Security and Loss Prevention Expert (SLP Expert) is a key leadership position within Amazon's Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) team. This role leads the effort to efficiently and effectively provide end‑to‑end S&LP services across all assigned operational business units and reports to the SLP Cluster Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify vulnerabilities and conduct root‑cause analysis using data to define mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.Actively monitor and report outcomes for systems and tools that generate data indicating site/region opportunities.Manage confidential investigations and prepare prompt reports of theft, fraud, and workplace violence/critical incidents.Utilize continuous improvement to drive process enhancements and increase efficiency.Serve as the department's liaison and security/crisis‑management subject‑matter expert, keeping site leadership informed on key issues, strategies and performance.Identify, promote and implement security best practices while partnering with internal customers to evaluate current and future security needs, processes, initiatives and incident‑response planning.Travel domestically/regional up to 50% of the time when applicable.Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach; stand/walk up to 12 hours per shift; work in a noisy, temperature‑variable environment that can include outdoor loading areas; continuously climb and descend stairs where applicable.Cover 24/7 operations and be able to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.A Day in the LifeAs an SLP Expert, you will join a team of professionals providing security as a service to business customers across multiple business units within a dedicated geographical area. Your duties include conducting regular physical security audits, investigating policy violations and loss events, collecting information through systems monitoring, data analysis and interviews, and contributing to vulnerability identification and mitigation measures. You will maintain the physical integrity of our sites by auditing and monitoring system health, collaborating with subject‑matter experts and external suppliers, and executing initiatives to improve physical security infrastructure. Interaction with external security service providers will ensure delivery of high‑quality services and a smooth customer experience, while you work on multiple high‑impact projects with stakeholders at various organizational levels.About the TeamWorldwide Operations Security (WWOS) is the global organization that supports field Loss Prevention for Amazon's worldwide operations, affiliate and retail businesses. It creates and maintains a secure work environment through policy and implementation guidelines, training, technology solutions, risk mitigation, audit practices and compliance oversight.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent, or 4+ years of relevant professional or military experience.2+ years of security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations or law enforcement (or 2+ years of Amazon Blue Badge/FTE experience).Preferred QualificationsExperience in implementing metric‑based strategies utilizing continuous improvement concepts.Experience in physical security system maintenance/implementation and coordinating scope of work with security vendors.2+ years of operational experience in risk management, audit, data analytics, inventory control, quality assurance, retail, warehouse, distribution center services, delivery service or supply chain.Investigative interviewing experience and relevant certifications such as Wicklander, Zulawski, Loss Prevention Qualified, Certified Protection Professional, Loss Prevention Certified, Certified Forensic Interviewer or Certified Threat Assessment.Workplace incident mitigation or de‑escalation and business continuity planning experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel pivot tables and chart/graphic development.Amazon is an equal‑opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability or other legally protected status.Location: USA, SC, Spartanburg – Salary range: 47,500.00 – 78,000.00 USD annually.Base salary range for this position is listed below.
