  • Performs protective services in fire suppression including rescue, entry, ventilating, salvage work, and first response in emergency situations;
  • Assists in maintaining fire apparatus and equipment;
  • Cleans fire station and grounds;
  • Inspects, cleans and maintains fire hose, pumps, hydrants and related equipment;
  • Conducts station tours for the public;
  • Presents programs to the community on safety and fire prevention topics;
  • Participates in continuing training and instruction through individual study and scheduled classes;
  • Performs other fire suppression and related emergency tasks consistent with appropriate department standard for position;
  • Performs related tasks as required.

Qualifications

18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid NC driver's license, or ability to obtain by date of hire. Desired candidate must meet required physical agility test standard.
