Summary You will serve as a LEAD FIREFIGTHER (BLS/HAZMAT TECH) in the Fire and Emergency Services of NAS KINGSVILLE TX. Responsibilities You will lead a crew of three or more firefighters assigned to staff a pumper, aerial ladder truck, or rescue vehicle in firefighting and rescue operations. Youwill direct the operation of firefighting equipment (e.g., pumps, turrets, extended waterways, ground sweep nozzles). You will establish on-scene control procedures (e.g., zone control, decontamination) in a hazardous material incident. You will identify training requirements to correct an employee's performance. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing rescue operations; 2) Assisting in the reduction and elimination of potential fire hazards; 3) Operating a variety of firefighting vehicles, apparatuses, or equipment; and 4) Performing non-invasive emergency and medical procedures.
