Job Summary:
The Dispatcher is to manage and coordinate the truck schedules to always ensure full coverage of freight executions with an emphasis on generating maximum revenue in deliveries of commodities and/or manufactured agricultural products to our customer base. The successful Dispatcher will also incorporate the JDH Culture in his/her daily routine while recruiting and dispatching Outside Haulers (OSH) to execute loads as needed.

Job Summary:
The Dispatcher is to manage and coordinate the truck schedules to always ensure full coverage of freight executions with an emphasis on generating maximum revenue in deliveries of commodities and/or manufactured agricultural products to our customer base. The successful Dispatcher will also incorporate the JDH Culture in his/her daily routine while recruiting and dispatching Outside Haulers (OSH) to execute loads as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate delivery schedules according to such factors as truck capacity, least cost mileage, and loading/unloading times.
- Monitor delivery progress and adjust schedules as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities.
- Executes loads out of designated origins from the Commodity Group Traders. Communicate with traders on new pickup/delivery locations and verify freight rates.
- Work closely and communicate with traders and customers to ensure timely delivery.
- Any dispatcher while on duty has the responsibility of supervising the employees on their shift (i.e. Working alone) as we are a 24/7 team.
- Assist with safety training to ensure monthly goals are met.
- All dispatchers will follow supervision safety protocol and complete incident, and accident reports as needed.
- Drive a culture of safety, accountability, opportunistic curiosity and contributes to creating an environment where people want to work.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or vocational training in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
- Desired, 2 years of experience in dispatching, logistics, or transportation coordination, preferably in the agriculture or food production industries.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in computer software programs such as Microsoft Office and dispatch software.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices
- Frequent sitting, use of computer, communication via telephone
- Ability to navigate an office environment.
- Regular and predictable attendance in office or site location.
- Some evening, weekend, or holiday shifts may be required based on business needs.
- Job may require occasional travel within the United States.
