Certificate.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSMust be at least nineteen (19) years of age at the time of application.Must possess a Basic P.O.S.T. Certificate.Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class C California driver's license is required; a Class B license may be required depending on assignment.Must be able to work in a noisy and stressful environment, handle exposure to communicable disease, lift objects exceeding 100 pounds, and perform a full range of body movements including reaching, bending, grasping and climbing.Must be able to work any shift, holidays and weekends, and anywhere in the County.Background investigation required in accordance with applicable law, regulation, and/or policy.Candidate may be subject to drug and alcohol testing as required under federal law.Incumbents of this class have full peace officer powers as delineated by the California Penal Code and must meet training requirements in accordance with Penal Code 832.VETERANS PREFERENCE POINTSEligible veterans who served at least 181 consecutive days of active duty and received an honorable or general under conditions discharge receive five points added to their score. Disabled veterans rated at not less than 30% disability receive ten points added to their score.
