Position OverviewFire Protection Engineer (M.S./Ph.D.) in the Thermal Sciences Practice. Locations include Bowie, MD; Chicago, IL; Warrenville, IL; Menlo Park, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Natick, MA; Atlanta, GA.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluating the performance of fire protection, fire detection, and life safety systemsReviewing fire protection codes and standardsConducting laboratory assessments of material flammabilityPlanning and executing experimental test programsPerforming engineering calculations and analysisConducting fieldworkPreparing proposals and technical reports, and presenting findings to clientsQualificationsPh.D. in Fire Protection Engineering or M.S. plus 3-5 years of related work experienceStrong technical background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and combustionOutstanding verbal and written communication skillsHands‑on experience executing experimental programsExperience in fire protection system design, installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance (plus)Experience with NFPA and ICC codes and standards preferredStrong desire and ability to tackle a wide variety of problems within and outside the area of expertiseApplicants are encouraged to submit a CV with publications (not restricted to 1 page).Compensation and BenefitsSalary range: USD $110,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 per year.
