Job Overview The Seattle City Attorney's Office seeks a LINC (Legal Intervention and Network of Care) prosecutor for the Criminal Division Specialty Court Unit. The LINC program serves as a diversion program for individuals with mental illness, providing resources and support throughout competency evaluation.Responsibilities Review daily morning mental health court in-custody arraignment (MHICA) cases for LINC program qualification and file those cases.Review daily mental health court (MHC) out-of-custody cases for diversion into the LINC program.Communicate with and make referrals to the LINC team.Attend weekly meetings with the LINC team.Attend monthly meetings with behavioral health partners.Cross-train with other SCU teams to provide back-up coverage.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications Demonstrated experience in criminal prosecution.Preferred Qualifications Two years of general prosecution experience.Experience with competency issues and mental health issues in criminal cases.Knowledge of the Criminal Division's organizational structure and culture.Commitment to diversity, racial equity, and inclusion principles.Compensation The full pay range for this step‑progression position is $50.15 – $67.12 per hour. New employees begin at Step 1 of the pay progression at $50.15 per hour. Current City employees' starting pay rate will be based on the Personnel Rules regarding promotions. Advanced initial step placement may be considered under limited circumstances, but step salaries are not subject to negotiation.Benefits The City of Seattle offers a comprehensive benefits package including vacation, 12 official holidays and 2 floating holidays, sick leave, and paid parental leave, as well as medical, dental, vision, life, and long‑term disability insurance for employees. Additional benefits include executive leave and eligibility for merit leave. City Attorney's Office employees also have the opportunity to participate in a defined benefit retirement program.
