Senior Fire Protection Engineer – Chicago, ILPTS Advance is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join a leading AEC client supporting complex, high-impact building and infrastructure projects across Illinois.Role OverviewThis individual will lead fire protection engineering design efforts from concept through construction, supporting mission-critical, healthcare, commercial, and institutional projects. You'll serve as a technical leader in life safety, code compliance, and fire protection system design.ResponsibilitiesLead design of fire protection and life safety systems (sprinkler, standpipe, fire alarm coordination support)Perform code analysis using NFPA, IBC, IFC, and local AHJ requirementsCoordinate with MEP teams, architects, and structural engineersConduct risk assessments and life safety evaluationsReview shop drawings and support construction administrationInterface with clients and AHJs during design and permitting phasesRequirementsPE license preferred (or ability to obtain)7+ years in fire protection engineering/designStrong knowledge of NFPA codes and building fire/life safety systemsExperience in healthcare, higher education, commercial, or mission‑critical facilities#J-18808-Ljbffr
