Success in this role comes from growing existing client relationships, supporting proposals, networking within the local market, and identifying opportunities to expand existing accounts.Work ScheduleThis role is based in Dallas, Texas.The Dallas office is fully in‑office, with the ability to work from home as needed.RelocationRelocation assistance may be available for candidates relocating to the Dallas area, depending on qualifications and overall fit.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze existing fire protection systems.Design new fire protection systems, including suppression systems, fire detection systems, fire alarm systems, and mass notification systems.Perform building code and fire code analysis.Interpret and apply applicable codes and standards.Manage day-to-day communication with internal and external clients.Lead fire protection engineering projects while supporting internal teams and external clients.Provide project management for schedules, deliverables, and client expectations.Perform research and prepare technical documentation for internal and external use.Review colleagues' work product and provide peer review support.Support and expand existing client relationships through excellent project execution, proposal support, networking, and ongoing client engagement.Help grow existing client relationships and support repeat business.Participate in industry organizations such as the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).Travel approximately 20% for project work, client meetings, and site visits.Required ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.Active Fire Protection Professional Engineer (PE) license (issued by any U.S. state) required.Progressive fire protection engineering experience within an AEC consulting engineering environment required.10+ years of fire protection engineering experience.Experience managing projects, schedules, deliverables, and client expectations.Experience designing fire protection systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, government, industrial, mission critical, or similar building projects.Experience coordinating with architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams.Experience working directly with internal and external clients.Strong knowledge of fire codes, building codes, suppression systems, fire alarm systems, mass notification systems, and life safety requirements.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong presentation skills.Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.Ability to travel.Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.Preferred ExperienceExperience developing and growing long‑term client relationships.Experience mentoring engineers or supporting team growth.Active involvement in fire protection industry organizations.Experience supporting business development and proposal efforts.Experience providing peer reviews and technical leadership.This position is not eligible for sponsorship.Compensation and BenefitsThe firm offers a competitive base salary, discretionary annual bonus, and comprehensive benefits package.
