The company values bold ideas, courage, and a pioneering spirit, fostering an environment that thrives on intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity, and a drive to achieve the impossible.Position Staff Electrical System Test Engineer – part of the Software/Hardware Integration & Test organization at our San Diego, California facility.Roles and Responsibilities Work with System Test Engineers, Test IPT Leadership, Lab Operations Leadership, and Test Planning & Execution teams to plan and execute scheduled test efforts.Apply lab testing experience to support full system‑level testing.Communicate and collaborate with multiple levels of the organization, including program leadership and cross‑business unit teammates, to meet customer needs.Thrive in a fast‑paced environment with diverse assignments and collaborative team settings across all levels; a proven track record in program performance and test experience is required.Coordinate with design and lab architecture teams to ensure successful integration of new hardware and software in a lab test environment and translate program requirements into lab‑specific configurations.Interface with external customer technical representatives, internal engineering associates, and program management.Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience, or Master's degree and 10 years of experience, or PhD and 8 years of experience.Technical experience in system test engineering and integration of aerospace systems.Experience in full program lifecycle flight hardware/software from conception through testing.Active DoD Top Secret SCI clearance with timely background investigation (within the past 5 years) or enrollment in Continuous Evaluation.Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) before employment and within a reasonable time as determined by the company.Preferred Qualifications Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.Experience with System Level Lab Test Execution and test planning.Experience with Hardware and Software lab operations support.Extensive experience developing and executing System level test procedures.Experience at multiple levels of System Test Engineering.Knowledge of native cloud computing foundations and cloud‑based environments.Familiarity with software architecture development and testing using modern cloud‑based and open architecture platforms.Familiarity with Agile software development methods and processes.Cyber architecture or cyber security experience.Experience with DoDAF and Open Mission Standards.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.Experience with technical analysis tools such as MATLAB and STK.Experience with Mission Operations for aerospace systems.What We Offer Northrop Grumman is on the cutting edge of innovation, building next‑generation sophisticated aircraft to protect our country.
