Stable Gate Attendant
This is a seasonal position for our 2026 race season from June through September. Are you detail-oriented, responsible, and passionate about maintaining safety? You'll play a crucial role in ensuring only licensed individuals access the barn areas, maintaining racing logs, and supporting a smooth, secure environment for all.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Includes The Following:
- Ensure that only licensed and/or authorized guests are permitted to enter and remain in barn areas.
- Ensure that all appropriate barn/racing logs are completed and maintained properly while scheduled shift.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education And/Or Experience:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Excellent communication skills required.
- Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The associate is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Associate's workstation is the racing booth and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. Associates will be exposed to horses and other stable animals.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Stables require 24 hour monitoring. Open availability during the season (April-September) is necessary.
