The City of Monroe is now hiring for a 911 Dispatcher.

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Starting Pay: $25.69/hour Based on Experience

SCHEDULE:

  • 8 hour shifts, including evenings, overnight, holidays and weekends.
  • Upon completion of initial training, new dispatchers will be assigned to a shift with set days off.

HIRING PROCESS:

  • The hiring process will consist of a civil service exam being held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 9 am at the Monroe Police Department located at 601 S Main Street, Monroe, 45050. A valid picture ID is required for entry into the examination.
  • Successful candidates must obtain a score of 70% or higher to be placed on the eligibility list.
  • Candidates receiving a conditional offer will be subject to additional testing, including a background investigation, CVSA, drug test and psychological assessment.
  • The hiring process can take up to 6 months to complete. The timeline is subject to change. Applicants can reapply up to 3 times for the same position.
