Fire Protection EngineerPensacola, FLAn established engineering and design organization is expanding its fire and life safety capabilities and seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to help shape critical projects across new construction, renovation, and facility improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep fire protection expertise, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to move projects from concept through construction support.What You Will DoLead fire protection engineering efforts for building and infrastructure projects in support of safe, code aligned, and high performing facilities.Develop technical design packages for fire and life safety systems, including engineering narratives, basis of design documentation, specifications, and coordinated drawing support.Provide engineering input for suppression, alarm, mass notification, and life safety strategies based on project scope, applicable codes, and operational requirements.Collaborate with architecture and multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate fire protection requirements into broader project deliverables.Review existing site and facility conditions, identify system improvement needs, and support recommendations for upgrades or modernization.Support construction administration activities through submittal review, responses to field questions, observation of installed work, participation in testing, and closeout documentation review.Help confirm that contractor work aligns with design intent, code requirements, and project standards during the construction phase.Contribute to quality reviews, schedule coordination, and technical problem solving throughout the project lifecycle.Required QualificationsRegistered Professional Engineer.Passed the NCEES Fire Protection Engineering examination.Experience preparing fire protection engineering design documents.Experience supporting construction-phase services.Preferred BackgroundHands on experience with fire suppression systems.Hands on experience with fire alarm systems.Hands on experience with mass notification systems.Working knowledge of life safety planning and building or fire code analysis.Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit.#J-18808-Ljbffr
