Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS) is the global organization that supports field Security and Loss Prevention and is designed to support Amazon's Worldwide Operations, as well as affiliate and retail businesses.The Security and Loss Prevention Specialist (SLP Specialist) is an hourly position within Amazon Operations that leads the effort to efficiently and effectively protect people, product, and data in a designated building. The SLP Specialist reports to the Security and Loss Prevention Cluster Manager responsible for the geographic area and supports operational and cross‑functional teams throughout the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct confidential investigations and prepare prompt written reports of theft, fraud, and critical incidents.Identify vulnerabilities and define appropriate mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.Serve as a department liaison and crisis‑management subject matter expert, keeping site leadership informed on key issues and performance.Develop strategies for alarm reduction and conduct system diagnostics for problematic devices, engaging and resolving issues with internal and external partners.Travel domestically as needed, up to 25% of the time when applicable.Lift up to 49 pounds, perform frequent physical tasks, and work stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts. Handle variable noise levels, temperatures, and weather conditions, and sometimes climb stairs.Cover 24/7 operations and work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.A Day in the LifeAs an SLP Specialist, you will join a team of Security and Loss Prevention professionals providing security services to business customers across multiple units within a specific geographic area. You will perform regular physical security audits, investigate policy violations and loss events, and collect information through monitoring systems, data analysis, and interviews. Your findings help identify vulnerabilities and contribute to developing mitigating measures. You will maintain the integrity of fulfillment, logistics, and retail locations by auditing system health with experts and suppliers, interact daily with external security service providers, act as a point of contact for multiple internal and external departments, and deliver loss prevention education and awareness programs.About the TeamWWOS creates a prepared and secure work environment by establishing policy and implementation guidelines, training leaders and staff, utilizing technology, managing risk, and auditing practices for compliance.Basic QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.2+ years of Amazon (Blue Badge/FTE) experience, or 1+ year in security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, law enforcement, operations, or a Loss Prevention Qualified Career Choice Graduate.1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel, professionally.Experience with workplace incident mitigation, de‑escalation, or Business Continuity planning.Preferred QualificationsExperience making informed decisions by leveraging data and metrics.Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment.Effective communication, collaboration, networking, and influencing skills across all business levels in a diverse workforce environment.1+ year of leadership or management and/or supply chain experience.Investigative interviewing experience; relevant certifications such as Certified Protection Professional, Certified Forensic Interviewer, or compulsory alerts.Experience in physical security systems maintenance/implementation and coordinating vendor scope of work.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
