Job OverviewThis position is responsible for responding to routine and emergency calls for security assistance, dispatching security officers, monitoring video screens, maintaining logs, and handling emergency preparedness across campus and regional clinics.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.EducationRequired – High School diploma or equivalent.Work ExperienceRequired – 1 year experience as a telephone operator, dispatcher, or related experience.CertificationsRequired – International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification within 90 days of hire.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)Must have computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information; proficiency with Windows applications and keyboard.Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.Good analytical skills.Excellent communication skills.Demonstrates good judgment.Strong interpersonal skills.Strong customer service skills.Must possess a good command of the English language, with clear and distinct speech.Job DutiesConsistently answer calls using the standard company greeting.Solicit and document information needed from callers to determine level of security assistance and dispatch officers accordingly.Respond to all codes and notifications during emergency incidents.Other related duties as required.Physical and Environmental DemandsInvolves primarily sedentary work; occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds. Generally no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. No occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.
