Job Description:Reporting to the Support Services Supervisor and the shift supervising Sergeant, the Dispatch/Communications Officer is responsible for providing dispatch, community interface and emergency response. Some secretarial/data entry support to the department is provided as possible around dispatch duties.Key ResponsibilitiesDispatch officers and coordinate responses to calls for service and emergenciesMonitor and respond to campus-wide security, fire, and alarm systemsServe as the initial point of contact for visitors, callers, and community inquiriesMaintain accurate dispatch logs and track officer activityLiaise with local police, fire, EMS, and other external agencies during routine and emergency situationsProvide directions and guidance to responding agenciesSupport community services such as parking permit registration and lost & found trackingRequirementsMust have good organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff and community.Must be self-motivated, dependable, multitasked and work with little supervision.Additional InformationMcDaniel College, in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, does not discriminate in the recruitment, admission, and employment of students, faculty, and staff in the operation of any of its educational programs and activities.
