Job Title

Full-Time ~ Ten (10) Months

Days: Tuesday - Saturday

Hours: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Functions

Follows all laws, Board policies, regulations, rules and procedures, and complies with the instructions and/or directives from his/her supervisor(s). Works primarily independently in assigned settings. Establishes an effective working rapport with all other staff and maintains a positive relationship with the school district's internal and external publics. Patrols and protects school buildings and grounds and other facilities that fall within the purview of the school district. Assists visitors and other persons with any information or directions they may need. Controls traffic on school premises and when school vehicles are transporting students to or from school premises. Monitors driving habits, including speed, of all vehicles entering or leaving school premises. Assists in the monitoring and control of student and/or community use of school property/premises, ensuring that all such use is appropriate and that such persons adhere to hours established for usage. Performs crowd control during school and at school functions/events. Follows established policies, procedures, and protocols. As authorized, works additional hours necessary to complete tasks as assigned. As directed, maintains contemporary job-related knowledge, awareness, and personal growth through participation in staff development activities. Performs work described herein without posing a direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself or others. Utilizes any applicable software programs pertinent to his/her particular office setting. Performs other related duties and tasks as assigned by the Superintendent and/or designee.

Qualifications

Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Must have the ability to drive a vehicle and possesses a valid driver's license. Must possess and display the ability to follow orders and adhere to the established chain of command. Must be dependable, punctual, flexible, appropriately attired, neat in appearance, and able to manage time appropriately. Must maintain a professional demeanor and image. Must be courteous to students, staff, and the general public. Must possess and display effective communication, judgmental, planning, organizational, problem-solving, and human relations skills. Must possess adequate knowledge with regard to applicable technology resources. Possesses strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to work independently and/or on a team. Has the ability to prepare documents without error, while working within deadlines and dealing with unplanned interruptions. Has the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Requirements

Must have the ability to be on one's feet or remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time and the ability and stamina to walk and/or run when necessary. Must have the ability to intervene in physical altercations /disruptions and detain persons involved in such. Must have the ability to bend, stoop, or reach above shoulder level. Must possess acceptable vision and hearing. Must possess the ability to climb stairs and ramps. Must be able to access all work areas and locations. Must be able to lift as required. Must be able to withstand changes in environmental conditions in the work area and adapt to these changes. Must be able to operate and properly maintain equipment relative to his/her position. Must be able to travel between school district buildings and other job-related locations as necessary.
